Spring boarding from their successful launch of the Sweathawg helmet liner, the perspiration mitigation experts at SweatHawg have turned their focus to some new products. Whether you’re looking for a skullcap for cool weather, or just prefer the full coverage year round, SweatHawg has introduced two new options which incorporate the sweat absorbing prowess of the original liners.

Using the same advanced Hydro-philic fabric sourced from Germany as the original liners, Sweathawg products can absorb 10 times their weight in water before they need to be wrung out. This means that in many climates you’ll have completely drip free performance even if you’re a super sweater. Those of us unlucky enough to live in extremely humid climates will still have to squeeze the liners ever hour or two, but the liners and skull caps manage to keep sweat out of your eyes incredibly well.
For their new Skullcaps, SweatHawg uses a wicking 4-way stretch material that has the absorbent material built into the brow only. Skullcaps are offered in a shorty which stops above your ears, and a regular which will cover them. The Shorty turns out to be a great option for those looking for a full skullcap in warmer weather, while the regular is ideal for cool spring or fall days where it’s cold starting out, but eventually you warm up to the point of sweating. Both caps retail for $25 and are sold in one size fits all since they are quite stretchy.
Having nothing to do with cycling, except maybe après ride is the interesting cap insert – a piece of the super absorbent material designed to stick inside a standard baseball cap. As an added bonus, the extra padding can actually make certain hats more comfortable depending on how they fit your head. If you have a favorite hat that you don’t want to leave white sweat rings on, $10 seems like a reasonable price to keep it fresh.
